By the year 2030, 1 in 5 people in Clinton County will be age 65 and older. In order to assist businesses in accommodating this growing demographic, Age-Friendly Clinton County (AFCC*) is unveiling its Age-Friendly Business Program.
The presentation will discuss the advantages of becoming an age-friendly business and will give instruction on obtaining the Age-Friendly Business Certification. MarisaSheldon, Assistant Director of Columbus and Franklin County Age-Friendly Communities, will be sharing about the success of Columbus's Age-Friendly Business program. Marisa will explain how becoming an age-friendly business not only caters to a demographic with considerable spending power, but it also contributes to the livability of your community.
Additionally, Kristin Taulbee and Haley Black** from the Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio will be leading an informational session on how to better serve clients and patrons with dementia.
* Age-Friendly Clinton County is a program of the Clinton County Regional Planning Commission.
** Taulbee and Blake are trained by Dementia Friends USA.
