CMH Regional Health System is now affiliated with The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James) through The James Cancer Network, bringing world-class cancer care to The Foster J. Boyd, MD, Regional Cancer Center. The OSUCCC – James is one of the top hospitals in the nation for cancer care with over 300 researchers and sub-specialized oncologists. Affiliating with The James Cancer Network means that our patients benefit from the latest research and innovation in cancer care and treatment.

Academic collaboration—as a James Cancer Network member, CMH Regional Health System is eligible to participate in Total Cancer Care, the OSUCCC — James’ clinical trial matching service.
Identification of opportunities to expand care delivered to hematology/oncology patients by enhancing and growing services offered in the Wilmington community to keep patients close to home for their cancer care.
Implementation of a full-service medical oncology clinic utilizing the OSUCCC –James’ existing treatment plans, and NCCN-derived guidelines for the delivery of chemotherapy.
Access to OSUCCC – James’ Tumor Board activities for Hospital physicians and staff assigned to the oncology program physicians and staff assigned to the oncology program.
The Foster J. Boyd, MD Regional Cancer Center—A Member of The James Cancer Network is named after Dr. Foster (Jack) Boyd, a surgeon and original member of the Clinton Memorial Hospital medical staff when it opened in 1951. Dr. Boyd founded CMH’s accredited cancer program. CMH Regional Health System’s affiliation with The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James) through The James Cancer Network gives The Boyd access to clinical trials, the OSUCCC—James’ existing treatment plans, and National Comprehensive Cancer Care Network (NCCN)-derived guidelines for the delivery of chemotherapy.
